Secretary of Education Arne Duncan was on the Cornel West NPR radio show recently, and I just wanted to point to one snip that I think clearly shows that problem we’re having when it comes to how we define learning. Here’s Duncan:
Secondly, on the test scores, it’s a really, really important…
And so it begins.
My name is Taylor Katzel. I am a first (soon to be second) year student in the Queen’s Concurrent Education program. I am a future educator.
My teachables are English and Visual arts. Thus far, I have had an enthralling time exploring my horizons in each subject, and have grown especially fond of each during my short time at Queen’s thus far. In two months, I plan to go to OCAD University as a Special Student in order to earn two credits toward my Visual Art teachable.
For now, I’m not sure what lies ahead. However, from first impression I know that the rest of my Undergraduate degree will be filled with exciting experiences, both those relating to Education and those not. I am especially excited to begin partaking in a more advanced level of English Literature courses, so as to eventually achieve my Major in English. In general, I am excited to see where the road takes me.
